Practitioner Enquiry Conference at Farnborough Sixth Form College
This year, the Faculty of Education will be running a series of workshops for both dance and non-dance teachers as part of this annual celebration of teaching and learning at Farnborough Sixth Form College, which will be taking place on Monday 11th June.
National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science opens
Monday 30th April saw the opening of the UK's first National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science, which was made possible through collaboration between six major dance organisations, universities and hospitals. Read Dance UK's press release.

PDTD graduate update: Shakespeare and Youth Dance in Berlin
A graduate of our Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma, Kathlyn Pope, is currently involved with the Berlin Staatsballett Education Programme and contacted us recently to tell us about an exciting youth project which took place at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in March.

The Faculty of Education is proud to announce the introduction of a new programme of study, which was recently launched by the Director of Education, Dr. Anne Hogan, at the International Dance Summit 2012 hosted by Staatsballett Berlin.
MTD student involved in a new dance education partnership in Scotland
One student currently enrolled on the Master of Teaching (Dance) programme has been promoting the Continuing Professional Development of dance teachers in her role as Development Officer at Creative Scotland, in partnership with Education Scotland. Katy McKeown recently organised and led a dance education tour for Scottish secondary teachers and dance artists to the Holland Dance Festival.
FoE Lecturer choreographing new work at the Sherman Cymru Theatre
Dr. Johan Stjernholm, Lecturer in Dance Studies, is currently creating choreography for a new work called Clytemnestra. The work has been commissioned by the Sherman Cymru Theatre in Cardiff and written by Gwyneth Lewis, the first writer to be chosen as the National Poet of Wales.
