How to Apply to the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance
Entry Requirements
- 120 credits at HE Level 1 – Certificate of Higher Education or equivalent
- RAD Intermediate or equivalent
- Will need to be completing a degree in dance alongside the LRAD and to have achieved RAD Advanced 2 to gain the full award of LRAD.
- English Language Proficiency test required for applicants whose first language is not English.
Auditions & Interviews
Applicants who are not enrolled on the BA Ballet Education may be required to undertake an audition and interview with a member of the programme staff.
Criminal Records Disclosure
All applicants for programmes of study requiring contact with young people and vulnerable adults are required to have a Criminal Record Disclosure.
UK residents are required to consent to a Criminal Record Disclosure which will be made on their behalf to the Criminal Records Bureau by the RAD.
International residents should check with their National Administrator to ensure they request the correct Police Record check from their country.

How to Apply
Applicants for the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance should apply through the Royal Academy of Dance by the deadline of 31 January.

All students will be required as a condition of enrolment to abide by, and submit to the procedures and regulations of the Royal Academy of Dance and, for validated programmes, the University of Surrey, as amended from time to time. Copies of regulations are available, on request, from The Registrar. The regulations are issued to each student on enrolment.
